The authors rightly point out how the pieces near the bottom get elongated in a vertical cut, but don't realize that the whole point of the horizontal cut is to cut those elongated pieces in half. It's not meant to be a cut halfway up the onion.

I used to have a Lumia phone as a teenager and it was very nice. I loved how curved and rounded it was, made it look very sleek and sci-fi, and it felt really good in the hand. Even the panel-style home screen was considered to be pretty cool. I remember at the time that, as you say, the main criticism was that it was isolated from the main android/iOS app store ecosystem and there were hardly any apps for it.

I used to sneak into my older sister's room to play it on her PC when I was a kid. I remember the stage with the toxic chemical facility or whatever it was, where the dead bodies would rise up behind you after you passed them by. I was too scared to play past it after getting jumpscared several times from behind, lol.

Yeah, but the theoretical endpoint of training a GAN is that the generator gets so good that the discriminator has to resort to guesses and become unable to tell with any sort of accuracy as to whether the example it is shown is real or generated.

Interesting, so it takes a screenshot of the page in playwright and then asks the LLM to parse the image and find the values corresponding to the keys in the schema? How expensive is it to run it per webpage? Does it sometimes hallucinate, and if so, have you tested how often?

I've always read about how astronomers, especially after Newton, could predict the movement of the planets with incredible precision, yet n-body problems are so infamously complex and hard to solve, even now. Why is that? Is it simply that the mass of everything except for the sun is just so negligible?

I remember watching these when growing up. At the time, he was just the "eccentric klein bottle guy" to me, so learning that he's had such a storied and interesting life from this thread came as a welcome surprise. Shouldn't judge a book by the cover and all that. Speaking of which, I definitely want to read the book now.
