What's your email? I'll send you one.

I can't share personal messages or such here. I don't feel it would be ok to share either of their obituary.

One of them was a very close friend. I knew the other one and there were articles on her published online.

Piracy could hurt someone several ways...

Yes. I know two persons that did.

These are magnet links directly to torrents.

Without a cloud it would take longer.

But, really how often do you need to do that and what % of users really need to?

Also, once on the cloud some business management take so long to "approve" new expenses that in reality it may not really be feasible to do things fast enough for it to be a benefit.

I've quite often seen the need for 5-10 meetings or 2-3 written documents to get approval for 10 new VMs for developers or new servers for backups.

Exactly.

Cloud is often viewed as if these don't exist: - Dedicated servers - Managed hosting - VPS - etc.

Most small to medium-sized enterprise could opt for such options instead of the cloud.

The cloud is renting someone else's computer at a way higher price than it would cost you to use your own.

If it makes things difficult, you shouldn't be using it.

It is overhyped and it sucks for most use case.

A better outfit. You won't be "more effective", but you will be "perceived" as such.

In front of torrent trackers and protecting sites with 100% copyrighted content.

I've sent them +500 copyright claims over the years. It's really complicated, slow and they never take any action against these sites even after 10+ valid claims.

There's no way to follow tickets. The process requires an online form to be filled then follow-ups are by email (with no way to see the status of tickets). Tracking these claims one-by-one is the hardest I've ever seen because you don't get a ticket number after you fill the online form or get an email right away. You have to manually follow them up.

The process has never been updated to be easier for the end-user in 8+ years (since my first DMCA abuse report).

Linode?

That's nothing compared to Cloudflare.

Try to make 500+ with Cloudflare and tell me your thoughts on it. They are legit protecting piracy and turning a profit from it.
