> Europe’s top court has upheld Google’s fine of around 4.1 billion euros ($4.67 billion) over alleged anti-competitive practices.

If they lost the case, and the appeal was dismissed, what is ‘alleged’ about it?

Haha. Those are things I like about Hackney

Not sure. 30% sounds like a lot. The streets in central Amsterdam _might_ have 30% cover if you don’t count the water, but what about the houses, gardens, etc?

But the party verifying that the person matches the id doesn’t need to know what the claim is for

Like yes that, but also. Why would I want to hide my email from someone but not from Apple? And why can’t I turn it off and choose not to hide my email? This is one of my top Apple ‘features’ that would make me migrate away, if not for android being similarly awful

I feel like batteries, while they won’t work for weeks, exist overnight as well.

Really? How large? I’ve only managed to crash it with hundreds/thousands of files so far, but haven’t so many huge files to deal with.

I kind of assumed brexit would make people give up pretending, but that doesn’t seem to have happened

That doesn’t make a difference though because of the cloud act

According to a quick search the nyc subway is $2.90 rising to $3 next year. This is comparable to, but slightly less than a zone 1 off peak ticket in London at £2.70. Most journeys are more expensive (on the train, busses are pretty cheap here)

While I don’t disagree, I think it’s worth noting that the Netherlands has a pretty good level of social housing. Not perfect, but I think it’s 26% based on the stats link in the parent. Also rent controls. Although these also tend to reward people who have been in the system longer (which _might_ be by design, but that’s just like my opinion)

Maybe? You can deduct losses. If you have to sell a little of your crypto while the price is high to pay your taxes, then what have you lost after it goes to zero? At least the tax office get something out of it in tat case.

I’ve often wondered the same. The op doesn’t go far beyond:

> The era of XML is in the past.

Which is about as deep as it seems to get. My suspicion is that the reason people don’t like it is because it’s a bit of a pain to work with in JavaScript

Why do you keep saying she wasn’t imprisoned? She was imprisoned in a convent and then in a mental institution.

Edit: clarification
