You can get "science" to say whatever you want. The so-called "science" in this article proving gender bias is absurd. It implies that if 2 people have "identical resumes", their work ability should be the same. That's just absurd.
Interestingly racism against asian people is usually not on people's radar, but they do face some significant racism. In particular, they face discrimination in getting into college. Because as a group they tend to make higher grades, they have to get the highest grades/SAT to get into colleges they want.

I greatly appreciate how vaccines help prevent disease, but like any medication, there can be adverse side effects depending on personal biology. Furthermore, they load up these vaccines with a lot of nasty chemicals.
If you look at how a lot of these vaccines trials are structured, they do a lot of sketchy things. Like instead of using saline as the placebo, they use the previously approved version of the vaccine, or inject all the chemicals, but just not the actual virus culture. That way negative side effects are even in both groups. Of course, it doesn't mean that vaccines are safe across the board.
First, thank you for acknowledging that your previous point was moot, and that you do have a double standard. Now I will show why calling the police any time any small assault has occurred is the wrong choice.
If you think that you need to call the cops over somebody grabbing your arm, you are far worse than the guy who grabbed your arm. Instead of turning the other cheek and forgiving, as the guy who scratched you should have done, you do the same thing: revenge. How are you any different? Simply outsourcing your revenge to the cops makes you a better person? No, you are the same - you feel wronged and that you have the right to retaliate, only your retaliation is far more severe.
If somebody is truly posing a threat to life or limb, then calling cops may be appropriate. But in most small cases, calling the police is both foolish and wrong.
An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind. Especially in families, forgiveness and love and overcoming evil with good are much better choices.
>I'm not surprised that someone who asserts that the police shouldn't enforce the law gets downvoted
Virtually nobody on HN thinks federal marijuana laws, (and i would guess immigration laws) should be enforced. You have a double standard here on "enforcing the law". If you think cops need to be called over a scratch or being grabbed, you have either lost your mind, or you just don't understand what getting the cops involved means. It's like arresting somebody and telling them they can't drive for 30 days and need to go on probation because they sped 5mph above the speed limit, and if they speed again, they won't be able to drive again for the rest of their life. What's more in some states, the penalties stack. So if you scratch 2 people in the course of your entire life, you are now a felon will spend a year behind bars and can't vote. For a scratch. This is beyond absurd. Also if you get one deffered adjudication you can never touch a gun again, not even 20 years later to go hunting. It doesn't matter if your spouse was just telling you they really enjoyed having sex with your boss - if you even cause a scratch you are a criminal, will be thrown out of your own house. If your spouse divorces you, you will lose custody because you are a "batterer".
Domestic violence issues are mainly propaganda and fear-mongering. They use it for political purposes, just like they use terrorism. When cops get involved, like I said before, it often leads to murders because the real batters are unstable people and calling the police just makes them angry and likely to murder.
Watching flat earth videos on YouTube is hilarious. Some of my favorites:
- they show Hillary Clinton talking about "the highest and hardest glass ceiling" in a speech. They use that as evidence that Hillary is secretly acknowledging the earth is flat and covered by a dome.
-a guy watches at a flight tracker of a flight from Africa to South America. Of course this flight would be much longer if the earth was flat. Well in the video he's watching and the flight disappears from the map not long after it starts crossing the ocean. The guy then says it's proof that the government is fiddling with flight info to hide the flat earth facts. Then I read the comments and one guy notes that you have to pay the flight tracker to track flights over the ocean... so funny
Most of those statistics are total trash created by and for the domestic violence industry. It's just like the drug crime industry. Most of it is arresting people who shouldn't be. In many ways it's worse because innocent people are constantly arrested, and a man is assumed to be guilty until proven innocent in court. Either they are arrested on hearsay (if girl says it man will go to jail period), or they are arrested for something small that doesn't need police intervention (such as causing a scratch, or grabbing the spouse by their arm. Literally anything that causes any pain whatsoever is domestic violence.
Cops prefer arresting people who aren't real criminals because they are not going to put the cops life at risk.
When it comes to true real batterers, calling the police may actually lead to more death due to revenge killings. The real batterers are out of control and the wisest thing to do is just get away.
This site has some eye opening insight into the situation.
Interestingly the DMCA prohibits creating software to bypass DRM. It is completely unconstitutional, violating freedom of the press. That part of the law should be struck down.
Dang, please help me understand. I was responding to the thread in the comments. How would have been a better way to express my thoughts in a HN appropriate way?
Just so you know, a lot of people think it's really freaky how any and all sexual perversions and confusions are considered "normal" and "healthy" today. To be honest, i think the obsession with LGBTQ may scare normal people away from the field. So you may make the change, but I wouldn't recommend putting much about it on the site.
The healthcare market is not feee enterprise. In fact, it is a government sponsored Trust. Nobody can practice medicine unless the government says so, and no one can take medication unless the government says so. No one can give even medical advice without the governments permission. This is the exact opposite of a free market, and the reason it is so stinking king expensive.
The regulations are passed through fearmongering, and only serve to raise prices unbearably. The government created the problem, now wants to "fix" it with universal healthcare. As with any monopoly, prices will be higher and quality lower than with the free alternative.
The answer to the problem is to introduce the free market to medicine.
The government doesn't have any business telling anyone they can't smoke weed, and they don't have any business telling skmeone they can't get medical advice from someone they trust.
The licensure is a government run monopoly, which always leads to higher prices and lower quality care.
The fact is good doctors will be good doctors regardless of licensure because they will put in the effort to learn what's needed to treat the patient. Bad doctors will be bad doctors, becaude their motive is money, and they won't care about patients welfare either way. In some ways a license gives a false sense of security.
Adventured is right, about both feminism and censorship. I think the ERA would actually help men more than women. Right now it is much better to be a woman in america.
Feminism has more than accomplished its goals of equality. Women can do anything they want, yet they also get these benefits:
If accused of a crime less likely to be convicted
If they hit a man far less likely to be charged with harsh domestic violence laws
If convicted, men get 60% longer sentences
If another Vietnam happens, women will stay home while men are forced to get killed, get their arms and legs blown off in war.
If they have a child out of wedlock they get free money from the government
If there is a divorce, they get custody 80% of the time.
The reason men make more money is because on average, they have a higher iq than women (this is scientifically proven), because they have more natural drive than women, and because they have fewer emotional insecurities that prevent them from succeeding in the workplace.
Feminism has achieved equality of opportunity in every regard. Today it is no longer about equality of opportunity, but equality of results. If feminists are going to fight for equal pay, regardless of merit, they should also fight for mandatory longer prison times, and mandatory higher conviction rates just for being women in order to match men. Or if they think things should be decided on relative merit of the individual, then they should quit whining about being women. Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. Find your niche, instead of trying to win at someone else's and then cheating because you came in second and wanted first.
Edit:
As for the dogmatic downvoters, why don't you at least present some sort of rebuttal against these facts, instead of a media-ingrained fear downvote?
I think a medical license is a total joke. Now instead of quacks peddling snake oil, we get extremely expensive quacks with diplomas peddling snake oil. My wife has back pain and we paid for a $1000 injection the doctor recommended that did nothing.
