Mariachi music might not be popular in the USA or Europe, but it's really popular in latin america. I'm from Chile and the father of a friend who visited Xochimilco was moved to tears by their performance. Not saying that it's for everyone, but it's meaningful to a lot of people.

I'm not saying that you can't do it, you obviously can. It's just weird asking for studies for something that was clearly a personal annecdote. It's like asking someone: "Which knife is your favorite knife?" getting an answer and asking for a study that validates the answer.

What source can he give you? It's clearly a personal annecdote that is shared between a lot of people that use vim. What kind of source are you thinking about?

I think this explains it very well https://learnvim.irian.to/basics/vim_grammar. You stop thinking about doing specific things tied to a specific keymap and you start to interact with your code using vim's grammar. Besides that, its nice having a consistent keymap between the different IDEs, text editor, browser and shell. Personally I hate if theres a keymap that uses more than a two keys at the same time and I much prefer having a sequence of keystrokes like vim does, I do touch typing so it's natural for me to type a sequence, but if you introduce any modifier key I have to move my fingers from their position. Also, you can find vim in most unix machines that you are going to interact with.

I had the same experience, but with a preonic. It's not that hard for me to use a regular keyboard but it definitely feels akward and when I do I type slower and more prone to errors.

Of course they can, no one is arguing against that. The point here is the hypocrisy of Elon Musk positioning himself as a defender of free speech, saying that they would not ban this account and then doing exactly what he said that wouldn't happen

I don't know. To pay with google pay I unlock my phone and get it close to a pos. Even here in Chile is rare to find a business that doesn't have contactless payments. Even if I could't use the contactless payment system that uses the same bank that I already have I can pay using a QR code with one of the many wallets that can connect to my bank.

Do you realize that even if the marketshare for desktop linux is minimal, let's assume 0.5%, those are still millions of computers working using what you claim doesn't work under any condition?

I'm from Chile (and still live here). I don't know where you got the idea that anybody whot wants to be a doctor can go to a medical school without much effort. Medicine is by far the most exclusive career that you can apply to, they're always the highest scores in our version of the SAT (you can check the scores that are needed for one of our universities here https://www.uchile.cl/admision-y-matriculas/admision-regular...). There are some private colleges that have a lower entry barrier, but they're still far and above the rest of the careers that you can apply to. Their salaries are also ridicously higher than the rest of the population, our minimum wage is 462 USD$ and a doctor can make easily 20 times that amount (and if you're a specialist you can make way more than that). Obviously there are some cases where a doctor can earn less than that, but they are in no way or form just another professional.
