Indeed, just to give some props to Nokia, my (now retired) Nokia N8 running its latest Symbian OS does the same thing for its alarm functionality and tells you the time duration before ringing.
One of the the last part about Warcraft's bright color palette is very fascinating. Especially the insight that you have to consider the actual environment that many of your users will be in.
I would argue, the bright color palette served the visual design of the warcraft games very well --all the way up to the mega-blockbuster, World of Warcraft.
@rmc Interesting, I have been doing research on Kindle publication, and most information online suggests that they sell only kindle file format, which is DRMed. Is there a way for publishers to sell and distribute PDFs and ePubs via Amazon?

The technology is impressive. The precision of the information (location, time, pattern) can be transformative in how police responds to high crime areas. Right now, I can imagine that the quality of information degrade in a game of telephone from the caller to the dispatcher to the patroller (and even more so in HCAs). Meanwhile the patroller has to be balancing the issue of investigating a false positive and wading into a danger area.
It's always sad to hear such a formerly great company take such a hit. Wonder at what point is RIM an attractive take-over target for the likes of software giants in search of controlling their mobile destiny, like Facebook.
Exactly, their business model is to drive Cable Channel subscription, which I gather is way more lucrative revenue stream than getting a slice of a bundled internet service like Netflix, or directly selling episodes at the going rate (already comparatively higher price) of iTunes.
Even their DVD sales of Game of Thrones occur until 1 month right before the 2nd tv season begins. All the more to goose interest in the show and channel subscription....

Impressive prediction. This was in February, way before the bungled Touchpad and WebOS strategy, followed by announcements that totally diminish the Hardware division, which remains a large portion of HP's value proposition. Cringely has made wild predictions that don't pan out, but this is one that was right on target.
