Yes, in Australia we have compulsory voting, but no national holiday. Polling day is on a Saturday, so most people can get to their local polling booth pretty easily. And since COVID, pre-poll postal votes have become even more popular and the Australian Electoral Commission has a really secure and streamlined process for these, proved over decades.

I think that the EV6 User Interface is pretty spot on, including things like side mirrors complemented by cameras that activate when you indicate, a nice HUD and real buttons for most things. If ONLY I didn't have to manually deactivate lane keep warning alerts EVERY time I start the car, it'd be nudging perfect.

I saw the book mentioned at random here mid way through last year and ordered it for my Kindle. To my surprise, it wouldn't be available until the end of the year. I found that puzzling because some people here seemed to be saying that they had read it. Now reading this set of comments today it seems that I was to be buying a revised version and the text had been 'in the wild' for some time. Anyway, it duly arrived, I read it and thought it an okay read. It wasn't until reading this page today that I became aware of the existence of a thing called SCP and any of what that entails in relation to the book.

Is there a place somewhere in the world where Hydrogen powered passenger vehicles are a success? I know that the one Hydrogen filling station here in Australia's Capital City has shut down after opening with great fanfare a few years ago. And the approximately 20 or so Hydrogen cars it supplied are no longer being used.

Actual voice phone calls are so rare for me these days that I'll often go months without making or receiving one, though my mobile phone is always with me. And I recently realised that the house I live in, which was built in 2020, has no provision for any sort of landline telephone at all.

Installed the snap on Ubuntu 24.04 and when I used it to look at /etc/sudoers.d/README, it emitted:

WARNING: terminal is not fully functional

Press RETURN to continue

...which I thought a little odd.

I'm having trouble getting my head around an interview with Teller. We all know he doesn't speak. :)
