Burnout is partially a 'new' thing because we have the luxury of actually feeling it. I imagine in older times people definitely were burnt out, but they didn't have the privilege of walking off that job, leaving during lunch, quitting spontaneously etc.

I refuse to give email addresses to the Washington Post in order to read news articles, and I believe this type of practice from them is disgusting.

If the article didn't mention it, I'm sure the Resnick's are sleeping just fine while the entire state burns down.

I mean... are we surprised? How long should we allow corporations to sacrifice the health of the many for their profits?

OTOH, if the solution were easy presumably someone would have figured it out by now.
