The Netherlands are exceptional, at giving this public image of this amazing country, where there is practically no crime, high living standards, little to no corruption, etc. etc. etc. etc. However the longer you live here, the more you realise it's just a thin veil on the top, dig just a little bit past that, and it's a country faced with multiple serious issues.
So something like this benefits scandal was not such a big surprise.
typescript as a language on it's own, is worth it, however the nightmare of the landscape of all the poorly develop libraries and endless layers around it causes me to never pick it for a backend project.
