I'm working in building an ultrasound system to see inside of myself.

So far I've got the analog front end manufactured and sitting on my desk able to stream 40Msps of data to my computer.

I bought some used ebay convex medical probes with like 360 connections and have started to reverse engineer them.

There's a lot of FPGA work involved and ive got AI helping me out. It's surprisingly been really good at FPGA programming.

Kids that grew up in the 90's and 2000's know this. Anyone ever bought that slime stuff? You pull it slow, it flows, pull it fast, in fractures.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any makers on the popular YouTube channels I watch say anything about this.

Where's William Osman, Adam Savage etc talking about this?

Neat! I didn't know you could use an SDR for that!

Not yet. Once I've got it working haha.

For the probe, you can find loads of them on ebay.

For the electronics. Digikey, JLCPCB etc.

This is cool! I've got a personal project in the works to build an ultrasound machine just to learn how it works. There's a lot of electronics design, PCB design, FPGA work etc that in learning. The probes themselves are used medical grade ones from ebay.

The hard part is that there can be over hundreds of piezo elements each needing to receive on their own channel. That means lots of expensive ADCs. Not to mention either having many pulser circuits or muxing a pulser to many elements.

One category of calculator they're missing is "Food Based Calculator". Imagined the front panel of a calculator being made out of a Graham cracker.

5 grams of mushrooms is not the same as 5 grams of psilocybin. When taking about mg, I think they mean psilocybin. When talking about grams, it's mushrooms

Is there a good cloud provider for these open models that I can easily swap my Claude library in python to?

I mean, the studies are still out in the world and homeless. Moving to another country doesn't change that.

Its less about "crimes" and more about a moral or ethical boundary that people feel is being crossed.

Yeah looks like the cli also retries as well. I was able to get it working using a higher timeout.

Thanks! Just tried it on a 40 page pdf. Seems to work for single images but the large pdf gives me connection timeouts
