If you look at docker swarm and other solutions, kubernetes is the first one ever to be adopted by all big companies out there.
And it doesn't has to be that one kubernetes, your solution only has to be kubernetes certified. This will allow us all to use the kubernetes api and features with different underlying implementations (as far away from the original or as close as it can get).
What will change or what will be enhanced are:
- Minimum requirements to actually run it (see k3s)
- More managed services (gke, azure and aws exists but also digitalocean)
- More/better handling of stateful services
- Simple solution for write once read many (relevant for caching and for ci/cd)
At that pace we are already with such a jung project, yeah this is great. This is huge.
And no one needs to migrate already to kubernetes! But it already does a few things out of the box which reduces the complexity:
- easy cert management
- internal loadbalancing
- autoscaling
- green/blue deployment
- deployment
But you do see how the industry is struggling with certain problems: We are now with kubernetes moving into a cloud native area.
Everyone know has kubernetes available. There was no mesos managed service from google, azure and aws. There was no docker swarm from google, azure and aws.
Like i like to read about things like:
ML, Scaling, Filesystem, Databases, Algorithms etc.
I do get a lot of input through hn, friends, youtube, blogs but i'm not getting my papers from direct sources. I don't have anything like nature or so laying around either.
So there is already another human being you like: Your Mother. Nothing wrong with that.
And there is literally nothing else around you? No sports club? No other clubs?
If you set your bar too high and critisize everything (like dismissing creating a facebook account or google account) you might live after standards you set, but forever alone. Sometimes it is worth it to rethink them.

This is new.
