It's interesting because i find when I'm less busy/stressed at work is when I spend more time motivated, doing better work, and fixing issues that otherwise would get left behind.

That's completely unreasonable. Sure the camera processes them heavily. but when you open it up and start editing in photoshop you are changing this area over that one, or highlighting one color over another etc.. or just boosting the brightness way higher than what it looked like that day. It's a perfectly normal question to ask.

Most "regular" developers don't actively engage with StackExchange.. I would not believe that statistic at all. And I'm a 7+ years vim user.

The only thing I use AWK for is getting at columns from output, (possibly processing or conditionally doing something on each) what would be the next big use-case?

Sounds like they were blindsided because they were too focused on work? And poor communication in the relationship.

It sounds like you think 2 workaholics make a better marriage because they are both "accomplished" and both focused on work, also sounds elitist.
