New Hampshire fits all your criteria. 1. Relatively affordable especially outside tourist areas 2. 90min of Boston, a big tech hub 3. No extreme heat, decent rainfall, tons of outdoor activities and nature. Ocean, Mountains, Forests 4. Not too far from DC 5. No income tax

As you probably know, South Carolina or North Carolina also fit all those criteria but might be too hot.

I actually am working on a minimalist LinkedIn alternative because I was so fed up with it: Learn more here! https://leapful.dev/

I think https://blitzjs.com/ exactly tries to bring Ruby on Rails convenience to js apps and makes all the decisions for you.

I'm trying to solve the same problem with https://leapful.dev/ that I'm currently working on! It's like a minimal LinkedIn alternative + "reverse job search" where you input job criteria and only get jobs that match those. Let me know your thoughts!

Hey everyone! I'm currently building a minimalist, privacy-focused LinkedIn alternative for software engineers:

- Only connections can message you

- Find your next role on your terms: specify your criteria, no recruiter spam, vetted jobs.

- Connecting and following activity are decoupled, only see what you want to see and reduce the noise.

- Privacy focused, open-source, no Google Analytics

What are your thoughts? Would this be valuable to the community?

I'm actually currently building a LinkedIn alternative to fix a lot of the pain points in this thread: https://leapful.dev/

- Minimalist social network for engineers: no feed, no messages from anyone not in your network.

- Input ideal job criteria and get matching and vetted job requests with standardized fields instead of paragraphs of texts from random recruiters.

- Private, no Google Analytics, and open-source.

Hey everyone, I built Digest about a year ago because I wanted a quick and easy way to check Hacker News from Slack. I hope some of you find this useful!

Hi everyone, I've been working on SourceClicks (https://www.sourceclicks.com) which is a marketplace that lets open source developers easily add a sponsored banner to their Github README by connecting them to companies interesting in advertising on those READMEs. Would love your feedback!
