Google just can't stand fair competition with other companies, because they are too slow and made absolutely no progress in the last couple of years regarding self driving cars. Tesla, Uber and other companies are very agile and develop new technologies waaaaay faster than Google can ever imagine. By the way, Tesla build their cars in the US, instead of outsourcing manufacturing to cheap countries.
