No more LLM-written articles in HN!

It could have been a tweet, but it was a prompt instead.

Nowadays you don't just write an article. You ask Claude to write it for you.

"So the interesting question isn't whether personal hardware is coming. It's who gets to write the software that runs on it."

It's not that I don't like your point of view. It's that I can't stand AI slop.

I would avoid sentences of the form "It's not A. It's B." It reads very LLM-like.

I'd like to gently push back because this is a misconception that is worth untangling. It's not that no one is talking about it. It's that there's a genuine silence about the subject.

Bolt a magnet mount on the dashboard. Slap your phone.

Open youtube through a browser with uBlock origin, with this line in the filter:

m.youtube.com##.rich-section-content

This blocks the shorts bar. I also block the other algorithmic surfaces and have only the search bar available.

I have been using Emacs+git on termux on an Android phone for more than 5 years.

I don't even use a third party software-keyboard, I just use termux's special key bar. To set it up, add the following to ~/.termux/termux.properties

  extra-keys = [['TAB','CTRL','ALT','ESC','HOME','END','LEFT','UP','DOWN','RIGHT']]
This has been enough for using org mode in everyday life tasks, and I don't need to keep swapping keyboards.

It's actually because of pedestrians jaywalking all the time. Horrible example for car ownership abiding citizens. As if it wasn't enough, they also make traffic a lot more dangerous by selfishly exposing themselves unvehicled.

Brian Lopes - Mastering Mountain Bike Skills. Taught me that the sound of my tires rolling on gravel is more rewarding than a place in the podium.

Patrick King - The Art of Witty Banter. Taught me how to be entertaining among non-engineers.
