Well, my guess is it matters for the upvotes the post receives on HN - hence you're seeing a lot of these posts. Leave out "written in X" and you'll be missing out on upvotes from the X community.
Updated the ruleset with regular couriers! Will be a lot different from the earlier matches. I'm guessing humans can win if they find "cheese" plays that the bot has not found during it's practice.
Personally I like to just get the Windows version and load Linux with GRUB as a second boot option. The few times I need to do something on Windows (photo editing, some games) I just reboot.
I kind of agree with your sentiment but you make it sound a bit like artists don't use their brain, or are outright stupid - which I don't think you meant and I don't think is true.
edit: If he would have poisoned the food and the thief died, would that be ok?
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that if he did purposely contaminate the food in order to get back at the thief, instead of just talking to him about it, the talk with HR seems justified.
Well, to me it seems plausible that the writer is not telling the whole truth. They noticed food being stolen from the fridge and he purposely put extremely hot spice in the food to harm the perpetrator.
But how do you prove that. And even if you prove it, would it hold in court since the food was stolen?
A doctor might have a 5% mortality track record for a surgery that generally has a 20% mortality risk. I feel like you are pushing it to an extreme with this yahoo doctor example.
If you use Ketamine regularly you build up a long lasting resistance pretty fast. I've met someone who was doing 5-10 grams a day and it barley had any noticeable effect on him
(subjective experience) When writing fast the result will be easier to read if you wrote with the correct order. Writing a character on your phone with the correct stroke order will increase the chances of finding the character you want.
How does this work? Can I try to enter a code unlimited amount of times, and then once I stop it adds all the failed attempts up? Great brute force defense.
Shouldn't the time limit incrementally increase. Wrong answer, try again. Wrong answer, try again. Wrong answer, you can try again in 1 minute..? Was the toddler left with the phone for 20 years?
This is great, but you're missing out on spoken English.
I think one of the biggest obstacles in speaking is overcoming the fear of saying something wrong, or not being understood. At least that was the case for me. Once you get over that fear and get a more "I don't give a crap" attitude towards if what you're saying is correct, and instead just say it, you've come a long way and it will help you improve.
Simple version of what I'm trying to convey:
Try to not be afraid to say something wrong, just speak your mind. Don't worry about grammar when you speak. It will come naturally after a while.
Personally I learnt most my spoken English through co-operative computer games and speaking to other players over ventrilo / mumble or in-game voice comms. The fear of saying something wrong or being misunderstood was minimized in this online setting, sitting safely at home but still communicating with real people.
I agree. I'd rather have a public system (albeit it might be flawed) than have private companies (facebook, google?) and the likes of TSA and CIA working, possibly together, doing pretty much the same thing
His point is if the person could have reached some kind of support they might never have ended up in such a desperate situation.
When I get really mistreated / fooled and can't reach any kind of human support and none of the "robotic" support options work - it's incredibly frustrating. Not to the point where I'd shoot someone, but I've definitely smashed my fist on a table once or twice.
