Smart move from Anthropic.

They're the belle of the ball right now, everybody is talking about them, everybody wants to invest in them, so they can call the shots.

Then they'll have money in the bank for a long time no matter what happens – IPO, market downturn, etc.

Takes off lots of pressure so they can continue focusing on the product.

IMO, maybe some technologies do make sense for certain team sizes.

I haven't worked much with React, although every time I did, I felt like everything was overkill.

Then again, I've worked with k8s and while other people may think k8s is overkill, for a team our size – hundreds of devs working on separate microservices, I think it makes sense.

It doesn't make sense for a small startup, but once you get to a certain size, the pure human element forces you to look for alternatives. While complex, k8s is actually a great solution to a lot of the problems we were facing.

It's possible that React fits that same need, and while it may seem like overkill to me, maybe I don't know enough about it.

This must be a marketing thing, right? (I had to check the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st)

The use case is bagels or pizza across the country? If you don't eat those within the hour they're not good anymore. Other than that, I really can't think of a situation where I would be willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money for cold food.

A team building game for the remote-first world.

My managers usually do cringe worthy "get to know your colleagues" events.

If there could be a game where me and my teammates could collaborate, work towards a goal (that is not programming), while also talking, I think that could be fun.
