OpenAI could of course send all your chat history to a DB and then use that on a future training round. Some of it is free RLHF data that needs a bit of cleaning up. Because the user side of the conversation has clues about whether the answer was correct.

Also are we that far from fine tuning in real time? Maybe next year?

I think while the current model might be what he says the model in 2025 could be vastly different.

Where I live a bad year costs $2000 in maintenance costs and usually it is less. Investing the cost of a new car in SPY would give the same amount every year, compounding and virtually tax free*

* You control when you sell and pay tax, sell in small amounts when not working to minimize tax, compounding gains are not taxed until sale, death allows tax free passing to children.

I wont even get into salary sacrifice!

I agree I want go get another 12 out if my 2012 Toyota. Probably the carbon saving from building a new car outweighs using fossil fuels a bit longer.

The customer would also be elated if they paid you nothing and they were your only customer.

I have a law I figured out a few years ago.

Almost all programming jobs will be on too complex systems. If a system is well designed and not too complex, then they wont need to hire you!

Social communication is of course needed and a seperate thing. The Jira comment may lead to a meeting anyway, but at a time that suits all.

If you are happy to run everything via the backend it is probably ok (no worse than a typical app with an app level DB login that had access to all rows and tables)

With async programming there is little load in forwarding it on, and that’ll be fine at low scale most of us use.

Probably a great option for profile pics to avoid upgrading your postgres instance to a costly one.

more than that: you shouldn’t need ti respond immediately in work hours.

such messages really should be done via the task management system, for example a JIRA comment.

slack for all the things is the problem. it is a crutch to allow bad organizational skills. just yell when a thought pops into your head is not great for the team.

but if you know they are working on X and it is about X then comment on the X ticket.

Slack should also allow message queues which don’t alert but can be consumed once or twice a day by people for non urgent stuff.

it is sort of for the government, most of it will end up being taxed one way or another, or at a minimum support people so the government doesn’t have to
