I am an iMBA degree student at UIUC. I took a leap of faith and got admitted in the iMBA program (Jan'17 cohort). I can say with confidence that UIUC is not only the first one to give such an affordable education but their online education platform is pretty stable.
Lots of my friends who are in the iMBA program are pretty serious about the Masters in DS. They had to be, after all they are getting 2 masters degree for half the price. I might be wrong but Berkeley is offering their DS Masters (online program for 100k+)
The insane rise in the valuation of Bitcoin. How many times we have seen a currency or an asset that represents this kind of momentum? Clearly no one has seen this coming (that soon).
I never want to reuse my comments from other thread but this time I just can't resist. No one really anticipated what we all are currently experiencing and Coinbase is not different.
The way things are moving it seems no one is selling and that's what baffles me. Crypto market is something we have never seen before where people are buying and not selling that is what is driving the price of Bitcoin.
Hardware company or Software company, we can always debate about it and choose whatever we want to say.
In few years Apple will be a "Trillion dollar company" and there won't be any debate or doubt about it.
Well so many things comes to mind when thinking about this kind of guarantee. Location is one for example. If I am willing to live and work in Chicago but Udacity found me the job in Sacramento, CA will I be willing to move to CA. I don't think so and that makes me the potential candidate where my fee won't be refunded as I say NO to the job offering based on the preference of the city I choose to work/live in.
APJ once said, "the best leader when failed, take the complete responsibility of failure, and when succeed give the credit to his team - this is the best management principle i have learn for the first time"
Thanks for sharing this. Every single day I convince myself that I am not wasting my time by going on HN and posts like these are the reason I find something useful and meaningful. This is something I can share with my 9 year old son who is showing keen interest in Maths. Though the stuff presented here is still pretty advanced for him to grasp, but sharing this will help him immensely to keep pursuing his mathematical interest.
I applied for a Job at Orbitz yesterday and today this news came. Orbitz ratings are pretty solid on Glassdoor and that makes them one of the best companies to work for in the Chicagoland area, hope it remains the same after the merger.
That's a pretty good info for starting the project. I have promised my 8 year old to build one for him. I will surely start checking out all these websites and visit the store (dx.com & bangood.com).
So we should be able to get all these different components from these 2 stores or there are some other online stores anyone is willing to share.
The gaming market is pretty dynamic and it is very hard to keep up with your competitors. People do play games but I don't know many people who keep playing the same game every day. Angry Birds came up with different versions of the game but the game dynamics never changed. You were still shooting pigs with birds, be in space or on mother earth. Some how these game companies have lots of loyal followers. I visited NASA (Cape Canaveral) last month and there they have a separate section in the NASA facility to attract kids with Angry Birds (Space version). Pat on the back (pun intended) for people investing so heavily in these gaming companies, when everyone knew that there is going to be another game coming out soon which will rock for few years before dying.
I totally agree with what Justin has mentioned. All these things can be learned for free. I am a big fan of what Justin has been doing and his Videos are simple and easy to follow. I've been doing Unix/Linux system admin for the last 10 years and would like to explore Devops myself.
You can checkout http://linuxacademy.com/ (I am not affiliated to them in anyway what so ever). During my search for the DevOps training I found their website. They follow a Team Treehouse kind of a model (learn at your own pace) and charge around $25 per month. I haven't tried that myself but their AWS content (All tracks) and DevOps track looks pretty solid.
If you want to get in touch my email address is in my profile. Good Luck !!
Including my mom in the last 10 years I've lost 4 female members of family to cancer. This product is revolutionary no doubt and I am very excited about it. I believe Google will face an uphill task as there are lots of things to explain to the consumer before taking this full stream.
1. Will these nano particles stay in my blood stream forever or do I have to inject them in my body periodically. What are its side effects?
2. The wristband on my hand communicating with these nano particles in someway connects back to the Google's network and now along with my emails and pics Google is tracking my health and my DNA. I mean I can turn off my phone and not use my email but I can't turn off my body. When combined with the DNA this project has the potential to provide an RFID to each and every human being.
Ignore my ignorance I am not the expert here just curious about all these possibilities.
