Should've started with this, I'm part of the team btw. Would love to dig more into this topic as we've been talking about it a lot since we started Hardcover.

Storygraph is one of the projects we appreciate, and we have a lot of respect for the team. We have a slightly different approach, and luckily the book space is huge. Our goal is to offer readers something significantly better than other platforms stuck in the past. So far so good

This is one of the things we've been thinking about for a long time. And review bombing is what we've been chatting about in the past few months. I think we have a few good options to identify and flag review bombers so that their reviews won't count at all.

Stars are important to quickly get some kind of idea about the overall quality of the book. But it's just one part of the whole review. We always tried prioritizing the actual written review, since that offers a more in-depth analysis and also tells you more about the reviewer. Right now we're also building discussions, which we're hoping will bring even more depth to what you can find out about a book before deciding to read it. Aand taking this chance to also mention the MatchScore, which is a % score that we calculate to tell you how likely it is you'd really like a book.

It's good because as I've learned from Stardew Valley tilapia is more than abundant.

Okay, I think this partly answers my previous question. Looks great! We're looking to also let you add where you actually are in the book (page/minute) so the result can be close to an async book club. You'll also be able to set privacy, so they can be private notes or only shared with your network.

You're probably gonna like what were working on right now. It basically covers what you described. We've been wondering if it's actually a valid use case, and seeing that there are readers who'd want to do that is reassuring. Would you want those notes public? And if they're public, how would you feel about people replying to them?

Thanks, that's amazing to hear (I'm the Ste Adam mentioned btw)

We've got a lot more plans in the area of AI recommendations. For readers that prefer to avoid the social part of things, I have a hunch that approach might be more comfortable.
