Sure, it's a lot of assumption, but the type system would prevent an invalid assumption from compiling (arrays are typed [T; N] where T is the type they hold and N is the number of elements), and you can always override it with a turbofish.

Do you mean the syncing of messages between logged in devices via the normal iMessage delivery mechanism (which I know is encrypted), or the "Messages in iCloud" feature?

This is false. NSPs distributed by pirates contain the decryption ("title") key (there is no signing key that asserts ownership, only integrity/validity), and XCIs are not encrypted by a title key at all.
