Your question contains your answer - "It only accelerates the citizenship process for religions that originate in India. Not sure what is discriminatory about that?"
You pick and choose which religions get an "accelerated" citizenship process (whatever that means). Also India has millions of muslims (or christians) whom you can deny citizenship because it is a "foreign" religion :)
Classic "strawman". Miss the point and discuss some detail. From any independent point of view - CAA is simply "discrimination on the basis of religion". Also it can lead to creating a country where the government can render people "stateless" on their whim.
Anyways, speaking of topics, what about "demonetisation" which was largely a failure, "freedom of press" etc.
Finally, I want to live in a society where we can agree to disagree. Like with you, you have a valid opinion and I respect that, I hope you can too.
Your point is exactly the things a lot of my Hindu friends say. Freedom and prosperity are two different things. China has/had a booming economy but look at the way they are treating Muslims or dissent.
Yes, for mainstream Hindu nationalists, this is a great time, the government is fully for them. But with all due respect spare a thought for the minorities, journalists and even comedians who are sent to jail for no reason. What about CAA etc.?
I see your point sir. IMHO in these times DW is still a calm, non-biased and pleasant new source. They are not bombastic, "breaking-news" all the time sort of site. They have news from across the world presented in a matter-of-fact way like the old times (sometimes even delayed by days). So I still think it is tax money well spent :)
Yes, blame everything on the "West", the missionaries, liberals and the "opposition". If India was on it's "own" it would have been richer than USA, more progressive than EU and pigs would be flying by now.
Calm down son. The government is about to tell us whom we can marry and whom not, this is nothing for them. Do you think they even care about robotics or electronics? "Make in India" BTW :)
