The less snarky answer is that our current system does not have a functioning global government. There is no real “we”. Influencing how other countries operate can only be done by force or diplomacy, and because North Korea has nuclear weapons, force is basically off the table, and they’re not interested in diplomacy.

The simple explanation is just that lot of ways that numbers can multiply to produce the same product

Like an odd number x times an even number y, x* y produces the same product as x* 2 and y/2

Same for a multiple of 3 c and and a non multiple of 3 d, c * d = c/3 * d*3

That isn’t cruelty. It’s immigration policy that the rest of the world already has

Spirit seemed to enjoy making their customers hate them. everyone who liked Spirit had to explain themselves (like you did) because their reputation was awful. It was a trainwreck of a brand.

A more accurate description of code is that it’s a depreciating asset, perhaps, or an asset that requires maintenance cost. Neither of which is a liability

What about the back nine though?

It’s also setting a precedent that IP usage requires a contract. Never mind that the contract is bonkers!

Energy is very cheap for data centers. have you ever looked up wholesale energy rates? It’s like a cent per kilowatt hour.

The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. ... A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. ... But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while a poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet. This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socio-economic unfairness.

Kenya is an equatorial country so they basically have steady ~12 hours of sunlight every day year round. Pretty cool!
