Definitely an early entry in the “cancel culture is out of control” genre. The subtext is essentially “can’t even cause a revival of a racist paramilitary organization anymore, because of woke”

Amusingly you can’t play some of our required LMS training through Displaylink

To this American's eyes, not mentioning that at all is a glaring omission. I recognize they might not want to in the story of the representative's son (as it might come across as blaming the parents in a recent tragedy) but even though it's for sure relevant in the aggregate.

And many big forums (and immediately stuffed them full of keyword advertising)

There are many references to heated tobacco as being safer in this article, but nothing supporting the contention. The filtered cigarette playbook used once again.

Is this why Amazon bought MGM? So they can use a James Bond movie character name?

I like using unloved old hardware and all, but there are better options in 2023

If the promotion doesn’t come with a commensurate increase in salary to cover the commuting/relocation costs, I guess you’ll just get folks doing the whole rest and vest thing (as much as you can at AMZN)

I’d pay it except I don’t trust Meta not to collect the data or continue to monetize it in some way.

You can ship these via mail (CVS Caremark does), you just need an adult to sign to receive.

It’s in my offer letter but it’s not a contract. The joys of “at will” employment.

I doubt my employer would do a Amazon/Grindr “move or else” on short notice but wouldn’t be surprised at a longer (6mo?) transition period.

One of the issues is that some of us picked places that said they worked like that and they have been walking it back piece by piece. I accepted a job about a year ago that said all the right things about remote/hybrid and yet they’ve gone back on many of those statements. (E.g. people that live within 40 miles from an office need to go in even if they’re classified remote and nobody else in their team works in that office) I don’t live near any of their offices and fully expect I’ll be asked to move near one or lose my job eventually.
