I think it's great there is an authoritarian government in china hellbent on destroying the environment and the world, destroying manufacturing in other democratic countries, destroying their social fabrics and society and jobs. And we keep buying short lived shit from china to help them do so.

This is a sure sign that China is one black swan event away from an economic collapse and possible Arab spring. Between the 300%+ gdp/debt ratio, stalled stock market, complete frozen capital control, second real estate bubble bursting in shanghai/tier1 cities, huge spike in shadow lending, Trump's 100 day ultimatum to China regarding trade deficit, demographics crisis, NK situation, south asia island situation, Foreign Direct Investments leaving China, protectionisms against China in europe/US/Japan, etc. The authoritarian Chinese government is starting to have some sense of fear now.

You probably have never lived in China. China has an authoritarian government that censors everything (last checked, livestream and korean pop music and every good external websites outside China), which means there's no such thing as 'cool' in china except dictated by the government. People in China are mainly concerned with making money, and getting the heck out of China.

As for opportunity, China's stagnant economy (crashed stock market, 2nd bubble bursting in shanghai real estate) and middle income trap status means that only Chinese citizens are preferred in any opportunities. Thus restrictive visas and anti-foreigners sentiments abound. 300%+ gdp/debt ratio and strict capital controls mean that the economy is basically one black swan away from a collapse.

Rising super-power.....only people who believe that are the wumaos that Chinese government send out to perpetrate western websites. There's nothing cool, innovative, or powerful about China.
