Not really. They've always advertised it for, well, Azure, and the actual announcement[0] makes it clear that it's simply a distro for Azure workloads. Considering they state it's "built exclusively for cloud and server workloads, it is not intended to support desktop usage or GUI applications," Microsoft isn't playing that game here.

So you moved into a walled garden in an attempt to escape what's essentially a 3 foot picket fenced garden.

The main site to get these hypervisor cracks thoroughly vets them, requiring the devs to publish the source code to it all.

Look at memvid's closed issues. The entire thing is a farce.

No, Workers free tier is 100,000 requests/day. Considering the error is on the main page, each visit is probably taking a minimum of 10+ requests, so it can easily be overwhelmed.

I guess we're all complicit to <insert war crime> for using and developing software that anyone can use freely...

I think it's amazing to have a massive commercially successful game such as Minecraft give the fans the ability to be very liberal with what they can do with it. Now we have open-source re-implementaions that are pretty close to vanilla!

v2ray and similar servers do exactly that, and I would assume they're still working as they're actively developed.
