After a long hiatus from the startup world, I've finally decided what I want to build next.
A service that provides AI with its own email.
It sounds kind of backward at first (it's slower than chat and its... email) but after careful consideration I think it's worth exploring for these reasons:
1. It's used by everyone and integrates to everything.
2. It's non-realtime communication gives more time to the AI to create higher quality responses and actions. Also naturally unlocks some cool capabilities like "Do X every Monday at 9AM".
3. It acts as a digital identity on the web.
To be honest, I really really wanted to go with a B2B product after my last [B2C product](https://www.indiehackers.com/product/ryeboard) but I'm back in the B2C arena because I have a gut feeling this will unleash another layer of productivity with AI for pretty much everyone.
I admittedly do not have a solid use-case in mind nor have I done lots of customer calls/research. But I want to make sure from day 0 that we're building something relevant for customers instead of vaporware so I'd love to get in touch with some people who are interested in this kind of product. I'll provide 6 months of free service for those that get in touch with me for their troubles!
Hey guys, I'm on a quest to figure out how we can best utilize AI in our workflows and I'm making a bet integrating it with email could unlock a lot of productivity - especially for people who are not that tech savvy.
Working on a prototype right now but wanted to see if anyone was interested collaborating over this!
We're trying to build a platform where content can easily be exported & imported (hence the cards) and free spatial information can augment brainstorming / communication activities (hence the boards). I know the price isn't for everyone but I believe we've made a unique product that has connected with many people. But as you probably can tell by the rest of the comments here, we currently have a problem communicating these qualities and we will work on clarifying our message based on the feedback on this thread!
First of all, thanks a ton for taking the time to give me this detailed and candid feedback - it is exactly what I needed to hear to plan out my next steps. At the moment I admit the product is a bit too general to survive in the harsh SaaS market and will need to find a market fit in order to survive.
I will reevaluate the direction of this project and what this product should be.I am grateful for all this interest in Ryeboard and thanks again for taking the time to write out this very detailed feedback!
Ouch! I was not aware of the unclickable video. And ha, fluffy marketing speak! I will be the first one to admit that the landing page isn't perfect. We will probably go through a dozen more iteration until we get the message right.
We do have a rough idea of who our target customers are but we are holding off any drastic feature developments until the numbers are more statistically meaningful! But wow, thank you so much for the constructive criticism. I will run this by my co-founder for our next iteration.
Hey tbirrell. It's free up to a point and after passing said limit all your data is still available to edit and view - you just won't be able to create more content!
We have swapped out trello with Ryeboard for our team's internal use. We will probably swap out our current road-map trello board for a Ryeboard one later this month!
