The firm did not even have open positions. But when I discovered them, it clicked in me -I had to be part of their team. So I could not just send a CV and wait. I had to get their attention.

They work with startups but also with big corporations. They do design sprints, business transformation, and create online products and services.

First, I invested dozens of hours consuming their content. I wanted to understand if I truly wanted to be part of their team. I did.

Next, I had to create something just for them. I took a different approach with the CV and used storytelling. I exposed myself so they truly knew who I am and then I showcased my previous work.

I sent the letter but it still felt not enough. So I created a concept newsletter tailored to them. I also wrote the first issue of the newsletter. It worked.

I got an appointment with them. But in the meantime I could not just wait. So I wrote another article just for them.

All of this so they could see how I think and the level of my skills.

They were impressed but unfortunately they do not have the capacity to hire me. It's OK. They did not even have a job listing -it was my initiative.

The point is to do stuff. To create. Even if the world is not asking for it.

In the link you can find everything I created for them. If you are into startups, marketing, and market trends, I am confident that you will enjoy the content.

I checked your service, healthchecks.io, and I got excited when I was reading your About page.

Under Values, you say: Do one thing and do it well.

I took a lot of life lessons from my grandpa, but one stuck really well. Do one thing and do it well. Thanks for the memory lane, keep up the good work!

Interestingly, in a recent interview Damon Albarn, the guy behing Gorillaz revealed that the song Clint Eastwood is a Mellotron preset. You can check the interview, featuring the sample here > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDX6l9_58RA

Btw, if you're interested in synths and music gear, I run a newsletter about music producers and their studios > https://www.gasnewsletter.com/

[edit] uugghh, I messed up. I had in mind the omnichord. Damon Albarn used the omnichord, not the mellotron.

I am a content creator (newsletter) where I interview music producers. The main goal behind it is to create a community where we have a place online, and multiple places offline to chill, chat and do our thing.

I am on the lookout to find how the online thing looks like, and honestly, it always comes back to a facebook group. I hate facebook. But it is the option with the least friction, for now.

Every other option, adds friction. From single signups to downloading mobile apps.

I haven't checked sociables yet (gonna, as soon as I hit reply), but I'm letting you know of my thoughts because it's a problem addressed to everyone.

yeah you should be proud, they're great!

I don't know if you keep in touch with music production nowdays but algorithmic compositions are on the rise. From modular synths containing modules that generate pieces to external sequencers doing euclidean rhythms and the like. Great stuff.
