I doubt that in any realistic metric C popularity can go down by 6% in only one year. It’s simply too big.
For example, if we believe this data, the popularity of “Classic Visual Basic” went from 0,77% a month ago to 1,83% now (more than a doubling), and both C and R lost over a third of their popularity in a month’s time.
Fortran is the real winner, almost tripling in popularity in a month. At that rate, it will be top of the list in December ;-)
