There is nothing in this article that suggests that ChatCGPT was in any way responsible. No details whatsoever, just a claim.
Presumably not ELIZA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELIZA), perhaps a character on character.ai or similar named Eliza?
This is, of course, a very sad story. It's certainly possible that ChatGPT was involved, although with OpenAI's neutering of the model, it seems more likely to be a different chatbot.
Either way, it's lazy of the article to not resolve this ambiguity, and seems rushed. It's not the case that "chatbot" = "ChatGPT" in 2023.

Yeah, ELIZA has been around since the 60s. I think the article reeks of a lack of due diligence and fact checking.
