Tell HN: When I first read the Htmx website I thought its from 2005

It definitely does not suit every single project (nothing does!).
This is nicely explained in: https://htmx.org/essays/when-to-use-hypermedia/

A right-click/View Source would allow you to reevaluate your initial impression due to the presence of elements introduced in HTML5 (released in 2008).
The fact that you can do that and not stare at a soup of minimized Javascript tells you a lot about htmx.

Do you mean XML? When I studied CS at that time, the teacher used to claim that XML is a future of web-design. But in reality the future seems like getting rid of the device-agnosty idea because the web of 2023 is just some "apps" on your snoopphones.
I think they're intending to rewind the clock and take a different path, and stick to some of the principles that they see as key to the early web's success.
It might not suit every single project, particularly if you start from the current paradigm but it seems like a good addition to the toolbox.
