I mean, sure its nice to add a political view around this. but let's be honest. the taxes and cost of living in CA is bananas. TX makes so much more sense fiscally.

It would make more sense if Musk said he was moving due to the different regulatory environment, but he said that he’s moving because of a law to protect children.
This looks like an emotional decision by Musk. It really does look like a tantrum to me, but I understand that you view it differently. It’s just that I think you may not realize that others don’t share your perception.

Only Texas will give him all the tax breaks and tax funded dollars he wants. Its especially funny given how much Texas gov hates green tech/etc.
Several companies wanted to make similar moves, but it didn’t pan out. You don’t have people that you need, among others.

Imagine being an involved, caring and loving parent that wouldn't have any insight in something so fundamental to a person's being. You can't. They would not hide it from you without fear.

It probably makes sense for the business to move to a venue with a more favorable regulatory environment. The company has been party to multiple lawsuits related to sexual harassment, assault and workplace injury/death and the ability to try cases in a more friendly environment will make it easier to encourage employees to optimize productivity.
