I think many people are discovering again that the cost of software maintenance is much higher than the cost of building it the first time.
I agree with the sentiment but from the adoption metrics it seems we're not necessarily widely discovering it yet.
Someone else recently wrote, Thanks to all the AI coders out there, I'm busier than I've been in years [0], talking about how they're fixing getting projects to fix up AI slop left and right.
It really does look like those who actually know and understand how to code will make bank, especially senior engineers. This is in sharp contrast to yesterday's post about the agency who refused to take AI related work [1]. One of the biggest lessons in entrepreneurship is that you gotta listen to the market for it will tell you exactly what it wants, and not doing so is at your own peril.
