We shouldn't post politics news on Hacker News unless they are tech-related... if we allow this, it will grow worse through time. I am here to read tech content, not politics.
Unfortunately when you have people activated over certain things you become literally Hitler for not wanting to participate in the slug-fest.
This is inherently the stupidest idea I've heard from the US administration since… ugh, only last week, I guess.
Given all the news, I'd expect them to read signs saying "Il vero caffè non ha ICE" and try to deport the nearest person to Mexico for "speaking Spanish". (For those who miss the joke, that's Italian).
And I'm saying this as a Brit, remembering news stories where people living in London apartment sued the government for putting SAMs on their rooftops, and others were kept out of their homes by BBC security blocking their staircases.
