I always wondered why "the entire software industry" is a failure. Now we know it was because variables in Smalltalk are not first-class objects (plus some other essential issues). The comment section of the post is revealing as well; the author responds to every pushback with insults. Well then.
This is an ill-informed rant.
The key idea is that software dev sucks for you today, because Smalltalk wasn't good.
