If you're the sort that prefers videos:

This should be the top comment, at least for today.

We see with the Mythos block that AI has begun to seem dangerous to the powers that be.

We can expect 1-3 more public frontier models before they are globally barred from public access as being too dangerous.

Which Quick Look extension? I've been looking for a good one.

All trucks have standard shipping container trailers. Europe has strict length limits for the overall cab/trailer that preclude a hood in front of the cab. There is great resistance to changing the law, even though long-nosed trucks are vastly more aerodynamic, because the law provides protection for european truck makers from American competition.

FWIW: option double click sny corner to make any window full-screen without going into full screen mode.

Double click any side or corner to move it to the edge of the screen, and hold down option to make the effect symmetric.

My guess is that the use of mousquetaires was more a reference to a specific corps of the military than to the weapon itself.

It would be like the gendarmes today — literally "armed people", even if they don't always carry an arm.

It would be nice to have details:

It rewards or penalizes online services depending on whether they agree to carry out “voluntary” scanning, effectively making intrusive monitoring a business expectation rather than a legal requirement.

This is a great article — just short texts by experts in their field who really know what they're talking about. It's very refreshing compared to all the rewritten and simplified articles one so often sees.

See svija.com/en — all SVG websites ;-)

Yes! We do that with svija.com/en — an all SVG website with an HYML wrapper so it displays at the correct size.

We have been building all-SVG websites for six years – https:/svija.com/en

They do get indexed by Google, and we take some extra steps to ensure usability.

It's wild to see the HN crowd, bleeding-edge technologists, regularly bring up "lying flat on a table" as a critical feature for a supercomputer inside a camera that fits in your pocket.

Somebody (many somebodies?) is rolling over in his grave.

It was deaths/km ridden.

I wondered once if it would be possible to ride a motorcycle safely if I drove carefully (everyone I know who rides has been in at least one serious accident).

I thought: I could look at the data, but I see so many motorcyclists driving dangerously that the data wouldn't teach me much.

So then I thought: I bet if I look at the accident rate for women riders it would be interesting.

I found that in the UK, male riders have seven times the accident rate of female riders.

So I guess how you ride does make a huge difference.
