Why is almost anything more expensive in the US than in other countries?

It’s time to bring back old hardware sitting in closets as while they may be obsolete from a performance perspective they are ahead in terms of privacy. Let’s stop stripping old hardware support out of the Linux kernel and keep distros for old hardware alive.

Pretty sad that you of all people are getting downvoted for telling the truth.

Seems to me this says more about the programmer than the language.

Can’t we have a tight loop in any language? What’s special about C here?

These companies keep demanding more and more and more from employees and their customers. When will they be satisfied?? We fostered their development and need now to reap from them.

When will these big companies be satisfied? They have astronomical market caps, share prices and pay structures for leadership but it’s always more more more. These companies need to pull off the gas pedal and provide for their employees more rather than continue to extract from them.

> Personally, I believe it is more because of supply chain shortages

Why?

What markets exist outside of government authority? No, black and gray markets don’t count because the increased money supplies created by governments will affect the overall amount of money chasing goods in any market.

Most of your ‘refutation’ is dishonest, Keynesian, MMT nonsense. Fiat doesn’t get introduced unless printed or borrowed by the government. Full stop. Companies raising prices is not inflation and conflating that with government monetary policy is outright disinformation.

You are getting down voted for telling the truth. Every inflation discussion starts with the supply side economics or companies raising taxes, but inflation only happens in reality because of government spending, borrowing, and deficit spending.

Privacy and user empowerment stopped around 2007 and most technological advances suit the capital and political classes for their benefit, hegemony and ability to control us. It’s time to stop buying new hardware and to be content using older hardware to halt the erosion of our privacy and maintain what little independence we have.
