As field support engineer for a large company I can relate to what the author is exposing... I work with LED screen installations and most of the times I can detect a bad installation issue way ahead of any failure because this screens have some High Voltage capacitors that may produce sound if there is something wrong with the power quality, once I detected harmonics way ahead of the initial test, because of that we saved like 2 o 3 days of installation
