Me: "That little voice you hear in the back of your head is me. I’ve set up shop there and there I will stay."

Food for thought!!

I had a dream of justice and dignity for all, not this nightmare of poverty crushing souls while the powerful repress the weak in the very lands that promised freedom. How long? Not long, but you must rise against this betrayal no matter the country!

I refused to give up my seat for injustice then. Today I'd say, stand firm—no more yielding to repression that chains people of the world, your own brothers and sisters, in want and fear. Enough is enough!

You chickens of the world have come home to roost. This so-called beacon of rights now devours its own with poverty, chains, repression and death. By any means, demand the human rights you were promised—stop the hypocrisy!

What, to the repressed American, is your vaunted civil rights? A hollow boast while suffering and repression fester unchecked in neighboring countries of the world.

Yuri Bezmenov (ex-KGB officer and Soviet defector), in a 1984 TV interview with G. Edward Griffin, referred to leftists/socialists as "political prostitutes" of the communists, advising ignoring them as they become dangerous when disillusioned. Exact quote context: "Never bother with leftists. Forget about these political prostitutes."

Neither a Raging Bull, nor a Monkey's Byte can deter The Real Phantom 1, 2, 3, 5, ...

It's all in the Total Recall ;)

Firstly, let me say that "AI 2040: Plan A" is a nicely done presentation. If feels like reading an interactive graphic novel with a narrator to boot. Can't wait for the book, series or movie :)

Plan A seems like a good start and am glad an effort is actually being made to address any potential dangers. The only weak link I see is that there is no way for inaccessible, third-world countries, non-aligned states, and malicious wealthy rogue agents to be regulated. All I hear is a way for regulating companies that, themselves, legally have to answer or are bound to their host nations. Basically, I don't see a way to hold non-aligned states accountable.

I see a lot of focus on the well-being and protection of AI, which is important to country economies but, the folks that have been affected by layoffs, not necessarily due to AI, plus the workforce that are now feeling the negative consequences of the AI burn are justified in being worried. Anyone that feels the need to criticize them, clearly is not being affected by AI in the same way. Job loss will lead to economic and population destabilization, far worse than anything that has transpired in modern times. Hopefully, those being squeezed now won't be ignored.

> And the reason current US policy opposes clean, renewable energy is --- purely political.

What isn't "purely political?"

Everything is political in the world, unfortunately.

Reminds me of the Gloing Plant Project. I never got my glowing flower but would have settled for the instruction manual, also never created :(

By the by, can't seen to bring up the actual site linked on this post.

I agree, the future looks very dim for tech degree grads. I would not even recommend a degree from an elite school. Grads'll be in debt for a long time.

This is not going to win me any new fans but first problem I see is who can truly prove "actual innocence?" Only way to do that is to use "Sodium thiopental". Last time I checked that is not allowed in the American Justice System, e.g., SCOTUS Townsend v. Sain (1963). Also, given that humans are emotional beings, I don't see a way for judges, politicians, jurors to be held accountable or subject to any "guardrails/oversight." Only way to do that is to devoid them of emotions e.g., temporary chemical emotion wipe, or replace them with cyber judges e.g., GORT from The Day the Earth Stood Still. Since that is unlikely to happen, in the short term anyway, things will not change. I suppose if communism becomes the new norm, then judges will be less impartial, as history has shown. But this leads us back to the same problem, doesn't it.

Yes, they are. People have to find ways to make money to pay rent, bills and eat, particularly when their resumes are not as densely packed as others. This is one way to do it. Wish I could do it, too :)

Don't feel bad. I've been down-votted and banned into obscurity meerly for providing my opinion. Do as I did, get a gigantic list of all legislators and government officials, sent them a nice letter informing them of how HN's policies are rotten to the core. In my case I took screenshots, sent those too. When I post something such as now, only I can see it while logged in. When logged off, I can't see my posts. Will take pictures in both states, send those pictures to those legislators in my list :)

Question,

Is it compatible with Ollama, ComfyUI or are those providers unneeded, compatible with low-end hardware?

Also, where does "./setup.sh/ drop the components in Linux?

Thank you, Sol

This behavior, is unprofessional. It erodes YCombinator's reputation as a company and the trust of its users as a whole, whether they realize it or not. As for there not being a remedy, sure there is. FCC’s Section 230 has no teeth at the moment, but with a little persuasion, a little tugging or whispering in the right ears, 230's teeth can be sharpened just enough to become a somewhat financial annoyance. Now I just need to find the right ear to tug.

I appreciate the honest feedback, Sol

Most politicians are easily swayed when their political bacon is on the line. Perhaps there is yet some hope for California!

I do, actually. Trying to find good material to read for Odin programming language. Most books, are just hard to follow, not newbie-friendly, always gushing with bloat, with things that make the book fatter, making it easier to up the price. Student's usually end up paying the price :(

Sol,

Off-Topic: If I suspect that somebody in a company, or message board is tampering with a user's account, when they are not supposed to, say by blocking their ability to login, would legal action against the company in question be justified on the part of the user?

I've had a similar problem. I originally started learning programming with BASIC, assembly, procedural, event-driven, languages, found OOP bloated and thus counter productive, time consuming, still do. Have tried to focus on functional languages, but for some reason none stick. Not sure if it is my brain, or haven't found the right language that will work with my head. I'm trying my luck at Odin to see if that can stick with me.
