gender is not very predictive of people’s opinion on abortion, it’s a common confusion and i’m not sure where it comes from

yeah, 50 million over 10 years is nothing. That’s 5 million a year. They made 101 million profit in a day by selling 1.5 billion worth of their bitcoin holdings

Sounds like a case of poor incentives. It's easy to wag our fingers and say "well they shouldn't be doing that" but difficult to come up with a system of incentives that makes everyone want to do what's socially beneficial. In this case, it seems like there should be a separate organization in charge of looking for adverse events that is rewarded for finding events (instead of punished). We use some strategies like this currently when regulating the finance industry

> I imagine that heat is being generated less efficiently than a purpose-built device.

All the heat that comes out of a lightbulb is being generated at 100% efficiency :)

(Although it's likely more expensive to heat your home electrically instead of via natural gas)

The reason Twitch does all that stuff is because they are beholden to advertisers and nobody wants to be advertising on "the site with all the white nationalists" or whatever, it isn't a good look. Github doesn't have that issue since they do not have a model based on advertising

Why is that a dark pattern? Seems the same as almost every other site, except with the relaxation of the requirement for an email
