1. A more ergonomic setup to help with my RSI - an ergodox ez keyboard, with a tilting keyboard tray attached to my standing desk and adjustable monitor arms makes it very easy to adjust things and make it comfortable for me
2. Having some greenery around me in terms of plants helps.
3. I prefer having a cup to drink water from (instead of drinking from a bottle directly)
4. I spray-painted my keyboard and changed the keycaps - made it a little more joyful for me. Might do it again after a while to bring some variety.
I am working on a tool I'm calling Makerflow[1] that covers your github PRs and upcoming meetings use cases. My big picture aim is to work towards a system that makes it easier for devs to do do deep work, collaborate effectively, and manage their cognitive load.
Gotcha. Most subreddits are averse to self-promotion, so you run the risk of a negative response from redditors. I can't speak to Facebook groups since I don't use them much.
It might be difficult to target ads to landlords on these platforms. I am not sure what targeting attributes might be available.
Maybe you could cold email/call property management companies and you might find specific people to email on LinkedIn. They manage larger number of properties and so this might be a bigger pain for them? Cold emailing and selling also makes it possible to get continuous and early feedback from engaged customers. It might not scale, but that's fine [1]
The interruptions from Slack (and in open floor offices) are infuriating to me as a dev. But, collaborating with your coworkers is important to build great products imo. I'm hoping to solve this issue by building Makerflow[1].
I don't think anything exists out of the box unfortunately. You should be able to start tracking them manually as a starting point. Do read the book (Accelerate by Dr Nicole Forsgren) for more information about why these are important.
Ideally none at all. I think engineers deserve a manager that is focussed on coaching, facilitation, unblocking etc. Being hands on, managers are probably not going to do a great job at either, unless there are only a max of 2-3 reports.
Check out the 4 key metrics from Accelerate - deployment frequency, lead time, change rate failure and mean time to recovery. This is good for teams. IMHO, tracking productivity for individuals is irrelevant.
