Sure Austin is a little blue bubble in Texas. However, most laws that impact employers are made at the state level, and Texas is a much friendlier climate and has less regulation. This does change the situation for residents of “blue” cities like Austin.

Tons of people are moving to Arizona and Texas from the Midwest and California. Now these states are turning blue, but the policies that made them attractive to those people (less regulation, resulting in more housing built and more jobs) are definitely not “democrat” policies.

OLED's have vastly superior picture quality and are easier on the eyes. I would say this is kind of the "4.7 inch iPhone" moment where Apple is finally giving iPhone users an acceptable screen at an "affordable" price. OLED displays have been dominant on Android phones and high end iPhones for a reason - they are so much better in picture quality.

Your argument is as naive as saying politicians act in the best interest of their voters or that companies act in the best interests of their consumers.

Entities act in the best interests of themselves.

Instead of accusing me of acting in bad faith, how about you do some research instead of mudslinging on the internet. I have provided evidence. You have provided none.

To help point you in the right direction, why are the United Auto Workers acting in California when there are no unionized auto workers in California? These unions are always seeking to increase there member base because the more members they have the more powerful they are as an entity.

Here is where the primary AB5 bill sponsors get their money:

List of all sponsors:

As you can see "Labor" is by far the biggest sponsor to the politicans who pushed through this initiative.

Joe Biden, who many believe will be the next US president has stated "I am a union man, plain and simple". His whole political career has basically been bankrolled by labor unions. If that doesn't indicate the power labor unions have in the US, I don't know what else does.

Teachers Unions, UAW, and the AFLCIO are pretty much the strongest lobbies in America.

Why do you get to decide what a fair wage is, or what a positive force in the economy is?

Taxis are an obsolete service, Lyft and Uber are overwhelmingly favored by customers and businesses.

The heart of the issue is big labor unions want more power, and independent contractor status is a threat to their power.

Amazing news. Unfortunately, without HiDPI support, most Linux DEs other than Gnome and KDE have been unusable for years.
