As an occasional gamer I hate modern big budget games as it takes me 15minutes to get gaming between launcher, updates, loaders and other distractions. It then takes me another 15minutes to get back to speed on which mission I was working on. By then I have 30 minutes left to game. Due to this, I frequently pick up older snackable games and skip AAA games altogether.

This person made it from scratch with no prior experience, so the bragging rights are well earned.

I used to be tech-journalist in an earlier avatar and Om was someone who I always turned to for inspiration and context. I learnt a lot from the way he wrote, thought and perceived the world of technology. Om shanti, I wish you a great new beginning.

Does this also cover all other employment agencies creating listing for the same one job, making it look like there are 20 openings while there is just one?

Most loud voices get obsessed with a specific definition of a dish and I think for the sake of creativity we should/would shift to using creative names to accommodate preferences.

People who use ChatGPT have fed so much data about their own lives and interests into it. This includes a lot of information about personal lives, interests, plans, business and even family! Shifting to another AI app is painful as they would need to start from scratch.

Ai was trained on news and journal articles and this is the reason we see so many em-dashes as well. The side effect is that good writing is now classified as AI generated, which makes it bad writing. What a messed up world we live in

No, I was just checking it out on Google Fonts and I could not see a way to change the colours of the sub-pixels which is affecting the readability.

> ban interest-based loans to private individuals

LOL, read up on how baking and loans in Islamic countries work. Banks buy whatever you want and then sell it to you partially at a higher rate. The customer then pays a rent for the portion owned by the bank till the principle is paid off. No interest charged technically, but effectively they do pay; except it is now kosher/halal. We humans use language to work around every such restriction by debating on the literal meaning of any such religious restrction.

There is such a large discrepancy in the number of recipes in the training data for South Asia vs other macro regions. I wonder what that impact that has on the study. I also wonder why there aren't mor recipes available for this region with such a deep culinary tradition.

Coral Pixels is pretty nice with a lighter background, but unreadable with a dark one.

I was wading through water with a 3310 in my pocket in 2006. Battery was fine and it worked after it was dried. There was a problem with the keyboard though but that was a cheap swap. And this was a phone without any water resistance.

Good point, I think in case of Figma the idiomatic design was set by Sketch and other UI design apps, which in itself was a step away from the idiomatic design established by Photoshop.

I cannot agree with this after reading transcripts of Trump's speeches. It does make sense in some scenarios, but writing like one speaks only works for people who speak clearly and effectively; unfortunately most people are terrible communicators.

Bot traffic is crazy even for smaller sites, but still manageable. I was getting 2,000 visitors a day on my infrequently updated website, but after I blocked all the bots via Cloudflare it went back to the normal double digit visitor count.

> People in other parts of the world tend to think that they are just as protected from their government as we are in the USA

No one in a modern democratic country thinks this way. US is not a benchmark in any form other than grandstanding about rights. Government snooping and overreach is as much a problem in US compared to other countries.

The difference is that something as simple as a traffic rule violation is not linked to constitutional rights because the repercussions of over speeding and jumping a signal is a catastrophic and could lead to deadly accidents. The problem that was solved with the linked verdict was that the process of proving innocence was not easy and this could have been easily solved with process change, without all the legal wrangling. It is just legalese porn and an over complication.
