"We have always done it this way" comes to mind.

My 10 year old BlackBerry Playbook was light years ahead of the iPad in functionality with standard features like mouse support (which iPad only received a few years ago). The QNX-based OS v2.x was amazing. In fact, QNX is now used on over 200 million automobiles.
