Totally agree and it also seems like the bbc is trying to scare the shit outta people. Everyone does have a right to know, but a crack within the core that's been accounted for by professionals needs a concise article with a way better title than this crap.
Yeam im really digging php these days. Composer and Laravel have made it fuggin awesome! I think more so the frameworks built when php was first picking up steam are a little convoluted and oldschool (im looking at you drupal!... 6 & 7, mostly). The language has come along way since then though, so thanks to the team for all their hard work.
Title is a little clickbaity, but it still stands that FB is some deep shit right now. Zuckerberg's child like competitiveness, coupled with silicon valleys hyper capatalist nature has created a serious problem for current and future generations...
If they start a label, I would hope that it doesn't try to compete with smaller record labels. It should compete with the big dogs and help out smaller ones similar to bandcamp. Idea: bandcamp + spotify...
I am a musician and we HAVE TO follow the trends to get shows. Used to be a bunch of tools, (I.E. myspace/reverb nation/bookyourownfuckinglife...) but now facebook seems to have dominated DIY events and concerts. Groups help with people to share shows and I'm not really aware of another tool that the majority of people will use to get shows booked in my community.
Even if another tool exists how would I sway people away from FB and to a new tool?
