> but sigh and accept that your wife is going to give your child a lot of “supplements” that you will then verify aren’t poisonous but also probably don’t do anything

This is weirdly misogynistic.

I’m really curious what you think this comment contributes. Like what was the motivation for posting it?

I interviewed at Epic in 2011. Got through a couple rounds - enough to see how weird and culty the place was.

I was alone in a room with one of my interviewers, who seemed pretty sharp. I asked him "do you like working here?"

He looked at me, glanced at the closed door, leaned forward and said in a low voice "nobody likes working here. If you have another option, take it."

I thanked him and left and I'm very glad I did.

Does every single thing need to be about AI? Really?

Or you could use https://krazydad.com/ which has been around for decades, contains interesting puzzles many of which are types the author invented, and isn't AI slop.

Amusingly, I (Daniel Drucker) originally discovered this while playing with extremely stupid compound units for energy - in particular converting joules back and forth to “atmosphere barn megaparsecs”. Yes, that’s energy.

This would also be a good place to mention my units toy: https://3e.org/units/

Counterpoint: When you're not looking for things, you don't find them.

Which is why the current US administration is destroying any kind of science that might find, say, climate change, or emerging pandemics.

It's not just research into things like that. As I mentioned elsewhere, one of the researchers in my department had a study canceled because something they did "engendered a robust hemodynamic response". Someone replied saying theirs was canceled for "mineral inclusion". There are thousands of things like this. It's not about DEI, it's about getting rid of science, because science is at odds with their view of the US.

>> It looks like this isn't something I can help you with. Would you like to be connected to a human who can help?

> Sure!

>> Ok, I'm connecting you to a human now.

[5 minutes later]

> Hello?

>> Hi! What can I help you with?

> Are you a human?

>> No, I'm an AI agent programmed to help you with anything you need. What can I do for you?

> You said you were going to connect me to a human.

>> That isn't something I can do. What can I help you with?

Turns out "connecting to a human" is something it knows about in its training data so it'll hallucinate doing so.

Whoops, keyword match.
