Hobby photographer here, so take that into account. My workflow is very simple. I moved from Windows and Adobe LightRoom to Fedora Linux with KDE Plasma, using DigiKam for downloading and organizing photos, and RawTherapee for RAW editing. I use GIMP here and there for occasional touch-ups. It's not as smooth as LightRoom and there is a learning curve, but you are gaining independence.

I used to use Testy Tester until one of my coworkers commented that she was acquainted with the Tester family, and there were quite a few of them in the area. These days I usually have completely separate systems for testing, but even there I use something like Zzzperson for test data.
