Sorry but I kinda disagree. I'm a Millennial with Baby Boomer parents and I'm definitely not poorer than them. No, I wasn't born rich, but I'm definitely earning more than my parents. Okay, maybe not as much as my Mom but this article is such BS. It all just depends from person to person you know. I hate it when generations always crap on millennials like we're the worse thing that's happened in the world. Have you met the teenagers? The young millennials? No? Well there you have it.
But it kinda is though. Honestly, I don't know why but this doesn't really surprised me at all. China is, and continues to go crazy serious with their AI business so the Chinese government knowing your location shouldn't be a shock to anyone anymore. However, it's nice to finally hear the Chinese people voice their opinion about this. I mean, it's a good idea for tracking criminals, but for common people, yeah, that's just creepy.
I'm okay with the singularity as well, though I gotta admit I have some reservations about it. Like, what if I get sacked because AI is taking over? Yes, they said AI could boost employment and will create new jobs but what if it doesn't? It will create unemployment problems for sure and when it does, other problems might follow.

If lack of awareness isn't the problem, then what is? What drives people to end their lives? Is it the way we live our lives? The people around us and our inner demons telling us it's the only way to stop the pain? And would projects involving life extension work and make them not go through their plan of taking their own lives?
I agree with this. If they succeed in this, like I said, it could potentially save a lot of lives, especially those who have a family history with cancer. But I also agree with what you said, I hope that this modified virus won't kill "good cancer cells" or turn them into something way worse than existing types of cancers.
This is why VR tourism should be a thing. If we all just do it in VR then we would not be harming these national parks. We wouldn't have to trash it. Yes, experiencing it live and first-hand is incomparable to seeing it in virtual reality, but unless we learn to discipline ourselves and stop trashing these national parks, there wouldn't be anything Instagrammable left for us to take pictures of.
Does this have anything to do with genetic modification? If so, this is really cool! But even if it's not, I hope they be successful with this because this will definitely save a lot of lives. I just hope the modified virus won't turn things around and make the person's condition worst.
I don't know what to think about this. Do we really need an AI with human-level of intelligence? I don't doubt that AI helps make our jobs easier, but should we really build an AGI just because we can? What do you guys think?
If smart, intelligent humans are the ones that's going to make artificial superintelligence, wouldn't that make us more intelligent than them? Unless AI can create a more intelligent versions of themselves on its own, I have second thoughts believing this idea.
I agree, but in other industries, there are people that say that AI will be replacing humans in the near future. At least I think they mean when AI becomes smarter. Somehow, I'm not we'll see an AGI or ASI in our lifetime. One that is capable of "replacing" human labor completely.
Wouldn't it defeat the purpose of "donation"? Why would you pay someone who is giving you something without them asking in return? I can understand returning a favor, like helping them out or something. But a monetary payment is unnecessary, imo.
Well, as long as they won't replace me and my job, or other people's jobs for that matter, then I don't see any problem with this. They could make our jobs easier tbh.
The thing is, our planet will always be here even after we're all gone. We may not survive global warming or the worst of it, but the planet will still be here, and it will adapt to its new environment. For some reason, I think all these preparation and prevention are more for us, not exactly the planet. What do you think?

I take a nap or simply walk away from a few minutes. It also helps me to play VR games for a couple of minutes just to refresh my memory and boost creativity. I find it effective for me, even though I only get to do it for about 20 minutes or less, depending on how busy my day is.

I was gonna suggest putting a coin to get away with it but then I read #3. Damn, China is screwed. I hope they don't plan to bring this worldwide because although this will be useful in catching criminals, it just might spread paranoia and fear. Then again, maybe it's already happening and we don't even know it yet?
I agree. In my personal opinion, these robots will help the students learn more and pay more attention, but preparing them for the cubicle is just... idk. I mean, in case of high school students or grade schoolers, we don't know where they will end up in. If you prepare them for the office now, they might just get bored when they finally enter the world of (un)employment. Plus, if you do a workplace setting, chances are you'd see students sleeping in their own cubicle during class.
That's good, because one of the misconceptions when it comes to robots and other automation is that it will take people's jobs away from them. I do believe that there's a middle ground that we can find where robots and humans can work side by side. This (as in education) is one of them. Students tend to get bored easily in class. If you bring this in, they will engage and pay attention more, which seems to me is what your company aims to achieve. Great job on that!
The only problem I can see here is that not all schools will be able to afford this because not every school has a budget for this.
Regarding air pollution, is it because of the smoke emitting from vehicles or the factories? You'd think, because China seems to be pushing their way into the top to becoming a tech-savvy country, that they will do something about it. I guess it's the price to pay for advanced technology, what do you think?
