This is not true. My keyboard broke and has been replaced with the same generation keyboards. I asked the apple store about it before they start any reparation, they told me they would never replace with a newer generation.
(MacBook Pro 2018, a few weeks after Apple introduced the new butterfly keyboards.) I am located in Paris, France, if it matters.
I mean, it's incredible it takes so long to update the status. Every single time there were an outage, I waited at least 10 minutes before having an update on the status dashboard. It's not acceptable. (When there is a status update at all...)
It seems there is a global outage. Google, YouTube and other services are intermittently failing. Mailgun just posted a message about it “[mailgun status] Identified: Global Internet Connectivity Issues http://stspg.io/6d0b57ceb”
