I've been involved in the train industry before, not heavy industry yet unfortunately.

And I can tell you that it doesn't matter how many advancements are made, thr hardware on the trains will be at least a decade behind. Siemens do be like that.

Oh my goooood, the average Asian person eats more rice than they do bread.

Not really. I imagine demand for AI just from China would eat up their entire production let alone demand from the west.

And after all, that demand from consumers.

That's not really a gotcha, because my train doesn't need a TB of dram.

Doesn't really need more words to explain it than "do what I say".

Memory has only really recently become lucrative. Germany still has heavy machinery, trains, drilling machines etc all of which will be needed for a long time regardless of whether the "bubble pops" or not.

>the gravy train isn’t going to last forever.

Have you seen how the modern stock markets works lmao? It hasn't been based on reality in a long time.

Hell just look at Trump, should've run outta money from all his bad deals ages ago but the grift continues.

>Harm does not mean a PlayStation 5 is now $200 more expensive or that inflation exists.

Yes it does lmao. If consumers can't get access to devices then they cannot be used for work or education. It's counterproductive.

How many "attention is all you need" papers aren't being written because as soon as there's a sniff of money the rabid suit and tie MBA fucks leap onto any opportunity like a dog in heat and fuck it to death.

For that price surely you get the rtx pro with like 96GB and vastly superior compute?

Are they fairly reasonable performance from your experience?

I'm about to move house and one of the things I want is better local AI. Ideally running a variety of smaller models at the same time, but occasionally one larger one. 128GB unified is pretty appealing, but for the price I can also get a handful of 5060 ti 16GB which give vastly better compute/inference speed.

Seen a few reviews of the strix halo boards from people complaining the tps is too low so definitely keen to hear others' experiences with em.

Given it's an overfitted transformer isn't is still terribly inaccurate/is liable to add random bytes here and there?

Lmao tech money is fake. Look at how much AI companies are throwing around. Musk is personally worth 1T now supposedly.

It's all virtual valuations. The stock market is poison but most people on here won't admit to that because they have their own interests in it. What a joke our species is lmao. We're still grabbing big sticks to hit each other with and worrying about our neighbors coming to take our rocks because we're all just monkeys still, even though we pretend we're not.

I mean it's interesting because of the way they work.

If people can be tricked by an AI generated voice over the phone, or misinformation generated by human or by AI, then we're already holding AI to a higher standard.

I would say in the same way that I look at my boss who I work for and can identify them that way, then of course I'll be like "yup I can do that for you".

Models aren't trained to be suspicious, that's what guardrails are for. Our brains are comprised of so many specialised areas and I'm fine with the same concept for AI.

I would country passing a token/authentication of some kind as a part of guardrails. Without guardrails an AI model is like a human brain missing a lot of the areas around suspicion, identification, rules etc. Only the "eager to please" centers remaining.

I feel like the easiest way to achieve this is in-harness, start with a core prompt and minimal tools, extensions to prompt, relaxed guardrails and additional tools should be controlled by the harness itself, when a token is passed, or a camera indicates an identified face match, etc.

I mean I'd love to be able to buy something like the 17k tps taalas chip as a pcie or m.2.

Imagine when we can roar along at that speed, low power. Can just have the model reason for a while about anything and everything. It reminds me of the "race to idle" for mcus etc.

How convenient for Musk that technology connections did this exact topic and these exact calculations (and much more) as a topic months and months ago: https://youtu.be/KtQ9nt2ZeGM?is=wOjIwPKFuYj2Smrh

Why up Musk? Is he your primary source of news and ideas?

People are already doing that lmao and the general population is so apathetic that they simply don't care cheap flights and buying crap from Temu will cook us to death, they don't care that late stage capitalism has made it harder and harder for people to have families. Even if the replacement rate is magically fixed tomorrow there's still gonna be a long gap and hard times ahead.

It's still far off but I wouldn't be surprised if these were the earliest signs of societal collapse. It does seem impossible to avoid, going in cycles.
